When we were married
"I'll protect you, from all your fears",
Is what he said,
When I had those nightmares

"I'll protect you, from anyone who wants to hurt you",
Is what he said,
When I felt I couldn't
Handle the pressure

Those words
"I'll protect you",
I held onto,
I treasured like shiny gold pieces

But lately
Those words
I don't hear anymore
Those pieces of gold have turned very dull

"I'll protect you",
Is not what you say anymore
There's only fear and silence.

All I can say is DAMN. I feel you there girl. I am going through some sh*t like that and I can really relate to this. Good job!
